It's a commercial site, but few spots on the web offer as much information on movies in one consolidated place. In short, this is the Internet Movie Database at:

Go there and type in your favorite movie, actor or director and a collection of related links and topics pop up from your search.
For example: Marlon Brando. Sure he played the Godfather, but what else? Did you remember that he played Superman's father, "Jor-El" in "Superman (1978)"; or that he sang as, "Sky Masterson" in "Guys and Dolls (1955)".
