Atlanta Traffic
by Roger Barnette
How can I put the phrase, "time saving" and "Atlanta traffic" together in one breath? The promise is entirely wrapped around that a little information can help you avoid the worst of a bad traffic situation. In acknowlegement of our terrible traffic here in town, there are a number of websites utilizing web cams and traffic counters to let us know which intersections to avoid.
The first website was sponsored by the Geogia Department of Transportation (GdoT). Its called the Georgia Navigator site. On this site you will see all the information used to feed travel times to the overhead signs on the interstates as well as pictures from the GdoT surveillance cameras.

My favorite site however is the Traffic411 site. If has similar information, but the page loads much faster and seems more concise to me.

Finally, I discovered a website with all the traffic cameras loading at once. It loads really slowly, but if there is a clear delay in town, you can see the extent. Its purely a novelty site, but deserves mention for the effort.
